Operation Christmas Cookie: 5 Years Spreading Holiday Cheer

The project has grown tremendously since its beginnings in 2007, “Operation Christmas Cookie” recently experienced its fifth year providing cookies, treats, and everyday essentials to U.S. soldiers overseas.

The founder of the program, Suzanne Fitzpatrick, has been very pleased with the positive response she has gotten from this project. She has welcomed more and more volunteers every year and the operation shows no signs of slowing down.

For the past two years, Food Packaging Warehouse has supported Suzanne with our popular plastic take out containers to package the cookies and treats.  These cookie containers are versatile and very spacious to fit a variety of about 18 cookies each.  They can also be shipped great distances while protecting and keeping the cookies fresh in transport.

This year, Food Packaging Warehouse decided to help Suzanne in her act of sharing a little piece of home by sending out a few boxes of our own.

“We want to show our support to our customers and to the troops around the world serving our country,” says Jeff Lukas, president of Packaging Resources Inc. FPW’s parent company. 


Food Packaging Warehouse team packaged the cookies with our clear hinged containers and ended up filling up four large boxes with containers of cookies, trail mix, and other essential items.

Grateful Graham’s grahams themselves come in different widths as well and the window allows the customer to find the exact type of graham they’re looking for. “We have people who would search specifically for the thinnest kind of grahams if that’s their favorite.”

Rachel’s business has operated for one year and has expanded quickly.

Catering On the Rise in 2011 & New Catering Items from FPW

We recently spotted the new article from QSR magazine online, “Catering to Change,” describing the benefits of offering a catering service to diners. The industry trend, QSR reports, shows that many sit-down restaurants are adding catering to their list of serving options. New catering businesses are also sprouting up as the popularity of stylish take-out food grows, the recent report claims.

Along with bakeries and take out restaurants customers (to name a few), FPW is glad to offer many resources for caterers. In fact we rolled out a new disposable catering supplies line that includes serving utensils, disposable drinkware and popular plastic cutlery. Culinary Design Studio Serves Many Customers (and Purposes) with Hot and Cold Food Take Out Bowls

His well-liked boutique restaurant, Culinary Design Studio, offers catering, carry out and private dining presentations in an array of styles including Tuscan, Thai, Cuban and Indian. He says when it came to packaging and preserving his distinctive meals, he needed a container that could fit the wide range of his restaurant’s needs.

He serves lunch entrees in his exclusive 16-seat restaurant with a hot soup and cold salad. Joshua uses the 22 oz soup bowls for each of his side dishes.

He remarks that the material in B22 bowls has made an impression on his customers. “Because they’re super durable people use the bowls as an alternative to Tupperware or Gladware, I use them all over the place.”
