The project has grown tremendously since its beginnings in 2007, “Operation Christmas Cookie” recently experienced its fifth year providing cookies, treats, and everyday essentials to U.S. soldiers overseas.

The founder of the program, Suzanne Fitzpatrick, has been very pleased with the positive response she has gotten from this project. She has welcomed more and more volunteers every year and the operation shows no signs of slowing down.

For the past two years, Food Packaging Warehouse has supported Suzanne with our popular plastic take out containers to package the cookies and treats. These cookie containers are versatile and very spacious to fit a variety of about 18 cookies each. They can also be shipped great distances while protecting and keeping the cookies fresh in transport.

This year, Food Packaging Warehouse decided to help Suzanne in her act of sharing a little piece of home by sending out a few boxes of our own.

“We want to show our support to our customers and to the troops around the world serving our country,” says Jeff Lukas, president of Packaging Resources Inc. FPW’s parent company.

Food Packaging Warehouse team packaged the cookies with our clear hinged containers and ended up filling up four large boxes with containers of cookies, trail mix, and other essential items.

We hope to take part and support Operation Christmas Cookie for many years to come. For more information on Operation Christmas Cookie and on ways to help care packages reach service men and women, contact Suzanne at sfitzpa774@gmail.com.

Operating from Cincinnati, Ohio, FoodPackagingWarehouse.com customer Rachel DesRochers’ business “Grateful Grahams”makes vegan handmade graham crackers and presents them in biodegradable paper coffee bags. By combining her health-conscious food and FPW’s eco-friendly paper coffee bags, the growing Grateful Grahams offers its customers a complete and popular earth-friendly package. “I definitely wanted a bakery bag that was recycled,” Rachel says. “I also wanted a bag that came across as simple and clean to our customers.”

TN-4PLA lb. Natural Kraft Tin Tie Paper Coffee Bags with Window

“What appealed to me about the bags was it even had the compostable stamp on the bottom to verify that it is earth-friendly,” she explains. “We’ve gotten so many compliments on the coffee bag.” Rachel uses two versions of FPW carry out coffee bags for her two main sizes of products, 1 lb. Natural Kraft Tin Tie Paper Coffee Bags with Window TN-4PLA and the ½ lb CN-6WIN. CN-6WIN bag suits her smaller size and 1 lb is perfect for her largest portion of grahams, she says.

Rachel notes that customers also appreciate the clear window in the front of each bag, letting them see the kind of graham crackers they’re seeking.

“When you’re buying fresh baked goods it’s always nice to see what you’re purchasing,” Rachel observes. “It’s that extra eye-appealing quality that makes a big difference.”

Grateful Graham’s grahams themselves come in different widths as well and the window allows the customer to find the exact type of graham they’re looking for. “We have people who would search specifically for the thinnest kind of grahams if that’s their favorite.”

Rachel’s business has operated for one year and has expanded quickly.

Available in over 30 stores, Grateful Grahams is now featured in the Whole Foods Markets in her region. She says her bakery supplies experience at FPW has assisted her increasing business. “We’ve definitely had a good experience, and FPW has been very quick to respond to any questions.” The ease of ordering has also been a welcome part of doing business. “It’s nice to be able to do it all online. It’s a lot easier. I don’t have to worry about calling in every time to place an order.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FoodPackagingWarehouse.com EARNS BBB ACCREDITATION

Lyons, IL – March 1, 2011 - Becoming an Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau is an honor not accorded to all businesses; because not all businesses meet eligibility standards. FoodPackagingWarehouse.com is pleased to announce today that it has met all BBB standards and is now an Accredited Business.

“Accreditation in the BBB is by invitation only” says Steve J. Bernas, president & CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois. “And only those businesses that meet our high standards, and pass the review process are approved by our Board of Directors”.

As with all businesses that are accredited by the BBB, FoodPackagingWarehouse.com has committed to the BBB Code of Business Practices. The Code is a comprehensive set of policies, procedures and best practices on how businesses treat consumers. These standards call for building trust, embodying integrity, advertising honestly and being truthful. Bernas adds “To maintain their accreditation a business must be transparent, honor their promises, be responsive to their customers, and safeguard their privacy.”

“We are proud to be a BBB Accredited Business,” said Chia-Chen Wang, Marketing Manager of FoodPackagingWarehouse.com. “In today’s world it is imperative that our customers know how seriously we take our commitment to excellence and good customer service. Our achieving BBB Accreditation exemplifies that goal.”

FoodPackagingWarehouse.com recently celebrated its third year offering consumers the best in takeout food containers and packaging. “Our desire is to stay focused on what we do best; provide outstanding products and unsurpassed customer service,” said Chia-Chen Wang.

His well-liked boutique restaurant, Culinary Design Studio, offers catering, carry out and private dining presentations in an array of styles including Tuscan, Thai, Cuban and Indian. He says when it came to packaging and preserving his distinctive meals, he needed a container that could fit the wide range of his restaurant’s needs.

“I like that the bowls are good containers for hot and cold food, they’re really the perfect size for what I’m making,” Joshua reports of his Sterling King Products B22 plastic soup bowls.

He serves lunch entrees in his exclusive 16-seat restaurant with a hot soup and cold salad. Joshua uses the 22 oz soup bowls for each of his side dishes.

The plastic soup bowls from Sterling King Products comes in a base and lid combo and Joshua says the fit of the two makes carry out hassle free. “The lids are nice and secure so they keep the soup very hot for a long time,” Joshua explains.

After seeing the winning features of the bowls, he has found a new way to give his customers added convenience. “I use the bowls as a doggie bag at dinner hour,” he adds. “They’re microwaveable so my customers can pop the container with their food into the microwave the next day.”

Recyclable and microwaveable plastic soup bowls, he believes, are appealing to his earth-conscious customers. “Since they’re reusable, my customers are very interested, they take notice of that for sure.”

In keeping with his always-changing cuisine, Joshua’s menu for the holidays features a Hungarian entrée, red lentil and root vegetable soup with a cinnamon ice cream dessert.

He remarks that the material in B22 bowls has made an impression on his customers. “Because they’re super durable people use the bowls as an alternative to Tupperware or Gladware, I use them all over the place.”

She says the container’s material and convenient size has enhanced her customers’ dine-in and take-out experience. Her soup bowls also showcase the most important selling points of her signature pho soup.

“The B40 bowls are great because they’re pretty and they look like an actual soup bowl,” Mary reports. “They’re also easy to carry.”

Mary was searching for bowls that had an appealing design that also functioned properly. “I wanted something that looked presentable, other containers also made food hard to eat,” she adds.

Since finding the B40 at Food Packaging Warehouse, she’s made it her exclusive soup container. “It works out well for us; it fits the portion size of the soup perfectly.”

Diners who use the 40 oz to go soup bowls base and lid combos appreciate the microwaveable plastic and shatter resistant material. She says the vented lid is another feature that her customers notice.

Saigon Sisters has brought a popular new flavor of to go options to the Chicago French Market. Now with a second location in Chicago, Mary says that winter time is a busy season for comfort foods like hot soup

Her soups include health-conscious ingredients and vegetarian options that make it stand out in the Chicago market. “The soup is different than regular chicken soup because it’s a lot hotter, very healthy, and not fattening and it has vegetables – it’s great.”

Spring rolls, steamed rice entrée in modern black microwaveable containers.

Reba Worotikin operates Spice & Ice Asian Grill & Gelato with her husband Albert in Albany, Oregon. Their store’s intriguing food fusion of Italian, Asian and American take out is flourishing, Reba says, in part due to plastic to go containers.

Her menu gives meal options at several sizes of rice bowls, salads and entrées.

Two of her dishes require a microwaveable 18 oz and 28 oz black rectangular containers.

“We needed a container that was higher quality for take out and to go orders,” Reba recounts. “We could never find the right plastic food container at an affordable price until I stumbled onto your company during a web search.” She also wanted to offer her customers additional value for their take out meals. She found a solution with reusable containers that made sense for her epicurean Asian entrée.

“We use the containers for take out and we charge for them,” Reba explains. “Customers are happy to pay extra because they know they are dishwasher safe, microwaveable and 100% recyclable. We encourage them to use them for leftovers.”

The shatter and leak resistant base and lid case combination also make take out more convenient for her customers.

The Worotikan’s have a 15-year foodservice history. They ran a catering business in the U.S. and previously lived in South East Asia, an experience that has informed the menu at Spice & Ice. Reba, a fourth generation chef, reports that her search to find the right container was complete when she found cost-effective, reusable take out packaging that gives something extra to her casual dining customers.

“Our customers love our food and the packaging,” Reba adds. “They even come in just to buy take out food containers. They are all hooked.”

Reba Worotikin and family at Spice & Ice Asian Grill & Gelato.

An FPW customer for more than year, Reba says she’s been happy with the services of an online wholesaler. “My experience with FPW has been excellent,” Rita reports. “The customer service is great, shipments are prompt and their team answers all of my concerns.”

The 28 oz black rectangular CR-927 B and 19 oz CR-815 B black rectangular combo containers come in 150 base and lids per case.

These entrée containers are part of the Sterling King Products line that carries plastic packaging from 16 oz to 48 oz in rectangular, square, compartment and bowls.

Before opening their Houston-area take out business, Higinio and Ascencion Amado saw a lack of fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine. Now, running their successful farmers market food operation Grande Tamales, they have achieved their goal of making homemade and freshly prepared tamales for customers.

Ascension reports on the local eating scene before they opened shop. “People were buying frozen tamales from the grocery stores. Even at restaurants, tamales were small and machine made,”

She says that pairing their signature food item with convenient take out containers has drawn customers’ attention to the fresh product and has made carry-out trouble-free. “The containers make it extremely easy to carry from one place to another,” she adds.

In addition to its convenience, Ascension says the shape and size of the container uniquely presents their food product. “The Sterling King Products TF1240B 42 oz single cell container is just the right size to fit two pounds of our grand tamales,” she describes. “Our tamales always look neatly packed and appealing to customers.”

The Amado’s regulars are seeking newly-made tamales on each visit to the farmers market. Ascension says they need a take-home option that doesn’t compromise the quality of their favorite tamale.

She remarks that customers love “the fact that in addition to freezing and microwaving their tamales, they can reuse them and even place containers in the dishwasher.”

The combination of a crowd-pleasing, freshly-made food with convenient, quality packaging, Ascension says, gives customers a reason to buy and return. Even sticklers for tamale temperature aren’t turned off when given the right container.

“Nobody likes to microwave a good tamal but with this container our customers are able to steam their tamales to perfection.”

Higinio and Ascencion’s Grande Tamales business is part of a growing plan for their business that includes a variety of new food options.

“We plan to expand our menu to an ‘international kitchen’ concept with dishes like lasagna, teriyaki, and paella,” Ascension explains. “Of course, we’ll be looking to use our favorite Sterling King Products containers.”
